Detroit, MI (July 20, 2026) – One person died in a chain-reaction wreck on westbound I-94 near Brush Street, Michigan State Police said. Troopers responded just before 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, after multiple vehicles traveling at high speed collided.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Investigators have not released further details about the other drivers or vehicles involved.
The police pointed to excessive speed as a factor, noting that it reduces reaction time and increases how severe a crash can become. The investigation remains active.
