Boone County, MO (August 3, 2026) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on Saturday afternoon, August 1, on Route U south of Ricketts Road in Boone County. The collision happened around 3:50 p.m. and involved a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a Ford Explorer.
The Ford Explorer was turning left onto Route U from Ricketts Road when it entered the path of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist braked while trying to avoid the collision, crossed the center of the roadway, and struck the rear of the Ford. The 42-year-old motorcycle rider from Centralia was ejected and taken by ambulance to University Hospital with serious injuries. Both vehicles were reported as totaled.
The incident remains under review as authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. We are hoping the injured rider makes a strong recovery.
