Bell City, MO (August 3, 2026) – One person lost their life, and eight others were hurt following a two-vehicle collision on Saturday afternoon, August 1, at Highway Y and Highway North near Bell City. The crash was reported around 3:30 p.m., approximately four miles south of town.
According to the crash report, a Toyota Camry failed to yield and was struck on the side by a Ford Escape. The Toyota overturned after the impact, and a 53-year-old woman from Benton was pronounced dead at the scene. A 61-year-old male driver from Benton suffered serious injuries and was flown to a medical center for treatment.
The other occupants of both vehicles, including several children, were taken to St. Francis Medical Center with moderate injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
