Why Motorcycle and Truck Accidents Can Cause Serious Injuries
Motorcycle and truck accidents can be dangerous because riders have far less protection than people inside larger vehicles. A truck’s size and weight can increase the risk of severe harm when it makes contact with a motorcycle. Even at lower speeds, a rider may be thrown from the bike or hit the ground with force.
Road blockage after a crash can also create added concern. Drivers may need to slow quickly or move around damaged vehicles, which can increase the chance of another emergency nearby. Medical teams often check riders for head, neck, back, chest, arm, and leg injuries. Vehicle positions, road design, traffic speed, and visibility may help explain how the vehicles came together and why injuries happened.
