Zanesville, OH (May 31, 2026) – A 59-year-old Newark man died after a motorcycle accident involving a pickup truck in Muskingum County. The accident happened at about 11:40 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, on US 40 at Chapel Hill Road.
Investigators said Roy-Donn Alexander was riding a 2002 Harley-Davidson east on US 40. A 2007 Dodge pickup truck, driven by 50-year-old William McDonald Jr. of Philo, was traveling west.
According to the initial report, the pickup truck did not yield to oncoming traffic while turning left onto Chapel Hill Road. Alexander tried to avoid the truck, and the motorcycle overturned before sliding on its side.
Alexander was taken to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for care. On Monday, June 1, the Franklin County Coroner’s Office notified investigators that he had died from his injuries. The collision remains under active review as investigators continue gathering details.
