New York, NY (August 14, 2026) – A 63-year-old motorcyclist was critically hurt early on Wednesday after a Nissan SUV struck his Suzuki on FDR Drive in the Upper East Side.
According to police, the motorcyclist was traveling downtown in the right lane at about 1:42 a.m. A 32-year-old man driving a Nissan SUV with TLC plates crossed into the right lane while attempting to exit at E. 63rd Street.
The SUV struck the rear of the motorcycle, throwing the rider onto the roadway. He suffered severe head trauma and was taken to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in critical condition.
The SUV driver remained at the site and was not hurt. No arrests had been made as of the report, and the investigation remains ongoing.
