What Investigators Examine in Motorcycle-Involved Collisions
Motorcycle crashes are closely analyzed because riders are more vulnerable than occupants in enclosed vehicles. Even relatively low-speed impacts can result in severe or fatal injuries.
Investigators typically review vehicle positions, roadway markings, sight lines, and impact points to understand how the collision occurred. In addition, they may assess whether drivers had adequate time and space to react before impact.
Environmental factors such as lighting, traffic volume, and roadway design are also commonly considered. These details help reconstruct the sequence of events and determine how the crash unfolded.
