Springfield, MO (June 20, 2026) – A Thursday night motorcycle versus car collision killed a Springfield man and left a passenger seriously injured. The incident happened at the intersection of Cherry Street and Dysart Avenue around 8:56 p.m. on June 18.
According to the Springfield Police Department, the crash happened when a 2008 Chrysler Sebring was traveling east on Cherry Street and turned left onto Dysart Avenue into the path of a westbound motorcycle.
The motorcycle was driven by 30-year-old John Cram of Springfield and carried 32-year-old Kelsey Huyck as a passenger. The motorcycle struck the Chrysler, causing both riders to be ejected. Cram and Huyck were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Cram later died from his injuries, while Huyck remained in serious condition.
The driver of the Chrysler was arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail on suspicion of DWI causing the death of another, pending formal charges. The crash remains under investigation.
