Phoenix, AZ (June 26, 2026) – A motorcyclist was injured on Friday morning, June 26, after a crash on the Loop 101 Pima Freeway in north Phoenix. The accident happened around 7:15 a.m. in the eastbound lanes at Cave Creek Road.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the collision involved a motorcycle and at least one other vehicle. Injuries were reported, though the extent of the motorcyclist’s injuries was not detailed.
Several eastbound lanes were blocked near the Cave Creek Road exit during the morning commute. The freeway reopened by about 10:00 a.m. Authorities are reviewing what led to the wreck on Loop 101.
We hope the injured motorcyclist makes a full recovery.
How Morning Freeway Collisions Can Affect Motorcycle Riders
Morning freeway crashes can be especially difficult for motorcyclists because traffic may be heavy and fast-moving. Riders have less protection than people inside cars, which can make even a brief crash serious.
Lane closures during commute hours can also create sudden slowdowns. Drivers may have to merge quickly, and motorcycles can be harder to see when traffic is changing lanes near an exit.
After a freeway motorcycle accident, investigators may review lane position, vehicle movement, speed, and visibility. Early reports regularly focus on injuries, blocked lanes, and when the roadway reopens before more details are confirmed.
