Blitchton, GA (August 11, 2026) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized on Sunday afternoon after a hit-and-run crash on I-16 West near State Route 119 in Bulloch County, according to the Georgia State Patrol. The crash happened just before 4:30 p.m., August 9.
Troopers said an unknown vehicle clipped the left side of the three-wheeled motorcycle, throwing the rider before driving away. The rider was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
All lanes were closed for a time before fully reopening. The search for the driver remains ongoing. We hope the rider has a full recovery.
How May “Clipping” Crashes Send a Motorcycle Rider Flying?
A glancing hit to the side of a motorcycle can transfer enough force to destabilize the bike instantly, even if the contact itself seems minor compared to a head-on impact.
