Sherman Oaks, CA (August 27, 2026) – A motorcyclist died after falling from a motorcycle and being struck by other vehicles on Wednesday morning on the 405 Freeway. The accident occurred shortly before 11:20 a.m. on the southbound side near Burbank Boulevard, north of the 101 Freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the rider fell from the motorcycle before other vehicles ran over the person. The cause of the fall had not been determined as the investigation continued.
Several southbound lanes remained closed while the investigation was conducted. Sky5 footage from about 12:15 p.m. showed the roadway closure and the body covered near the affected lanes.
The rider’s identity was not released in the available report. Investigators are working to determine what led to the wreck.
