Fairbanks, AK (July 21, 2026) – A 19-year-old motorcyclist died following a collision with a bicyclist on Sunday, July 19. The two riders came together at Steese Highway and 10th Avenue.
The police identified the motorcycle rider as Aiden Cowles of Fairbanks. Cowles was traveling south and entered the intersection with a green traffic signal when the motorcycle struck the bicycle.
The motorcycle then went out of control, leaving Cowles fatally hurt. Emergency units pronounced him dead following the accident.
The cyclist left on foot after the wreck but was identified by Tuesday morning. The collision remains under review.
