Monroe County, MI (July 2, 2026) – A 66-year-old Trenton man was killed in a collision involving a motorcycle and a minivan on Tuesday night at the intersection of N Telegraph Road and Newport Road in Monroe County.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:08 p.m. Investigators identified the motorcyclist as Robert M. Noble, 66, of Trenton. According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Noble was operating a 2012 Harley-Davidson and was turning south onto N Telegraph Road from westbound Newport Road when his motorcycle collided with a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica.
Authorities said the minivan, driven by Carleana L. Plyler, 34, of Newport, was traveling east on Newport Road with a juvenile passenger when it entered the intersection. The impact threw Noble from the motorcycle, and he came to rest on the grassy shoulder of Newport Road. The Chrysler drove through a fence before coming to a stop in the parking lot of the DTE Energy Newport Service Center.
Noble died from injuries sustained in the collision. Investigators said he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Plyler and her juvenile passenger, who were both wearing seat belts and protected by the vehicle’s airbags, were evaluated at the scene before later seeking medical treatment as a precaution.
Authorities said alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the collision. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Services Division continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
