Clarke County, IA (August 7, 2026) – A Des Moines man died on Wednesday after the motorcycle he was riding struck the rear of a semi-trailer on Interstate 35 in southern Iowa.
The Iowa State Patrol reported that the crash happened in the northbound lanes of I-35 near the 40-mile marker around 5:23 p.m., approximately four miles south of the New Virginia exit. Jordan Wilson, 22, was traveling north when the Honda CRF300L Rally motorcycle he operated struck the rear driver’s side of a semi’s trailer while attempting to pass.
Wilson was pronounced dead at the crash site. No additional details about the semi driver or the circumstances leading up to the wreck were included in the initial report.
