Oakland, CA (August 7, 2026) — A three-vehicle collision prompted emergency response and blocked a lane on southbound I-880 near the 29th Avenue off-ramp in Oakland early on Thursday morning, August 6.
California Highway Patrol dispatch records show the crash was reported shortly after 6:10 a.m. A blue Toyota Tacoma, a black Toyota RAV4, and a black Ford Mustang were identified in the initial information.
The first travel lane was blocked while responders worked at the scene. The Toyota RAV4 was not drivable and required towing, and fire personnel were also dispatched.
By approximately 6:23 a.m., the vehicles had been moved to the right shoulder and all lanes were reopened. The circumstances remain under investigation.
