How Left-Turn Crashes Involving Motorcycles Can Be Dangerous
Left-turn crashes are a common type of roadway accident because drivers must judge the speed and distance of approaching traffic before turning. Motorcycles can be harder to see than larger vehicles, which may increase risks at intersections.
Drivers can improve safety by checking carefully for motorcycles, allowing enough time before turning, and staying focused on traffic movement. Motorcyclists can reduce risks by using visible lighting, wearing protective equipment, and following safe riding practices. Extra caution at intersections can help prevent serious crashes involving motorcycles and other vehicles.
