Boone County, AR (June 20, 2026) – A 24-year-old motorcyclist was killed, and another driver was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday evening on State Highway 7 in rural Boone County.
According to the Arkansas State Police, the collision occurred at approximately 6:54 p.m. on June 17, near the intersection of State Highway 7 and Kirk Mountain Road. Investigators said Dalton Ray Stanford, 24, of Harrison, was traveling northbound on a 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when it crossed the center line in a curve.
The motorcycle entered the southbound lane and struck a 2026 Chevrolet driven by Peggy Jean Barnes, 71, of Lead Hill. Stanford died at the scene as a result of the collision.
Barnes was injured and taken to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center for treatment. Officials reported that weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the wreck.
