Knoxville, TN (July 23, 2026) – A motorcyclist died on Thursday morning after a collision with a sedan at Western Ave and Matlock Dr in Knoxville.
Detectives said officers were called to the intersection around 6:30 a.m., where the motorcyclist was pronounced dead. Investigators believe the motorcycle was traveling along Western Ave when a sedan pulled out from Matlock Dr and entered its path.
The police said alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the collision. No charges had been filed at the time of publication, and the identity of the motorcyclist was not released. The circumstances surrounding the wreck are still being reviewed by crash reconstruction personnel.
