Montgomery, MN (June 8, 2026) – A fatal two-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 59-year-old motorcyclist around 8:47 a.m. on Sunday, June 7, in Le Sueur County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the deadly collision happened at the intersection of Highway 21 and County Road 3 in Montgomery. Investigators said a 2020 Buick Enclave was traveling north on County Road 3 while a 2024 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was heading east on Highway 21 when the two vehicles entered the intersection and struck each other.
The rider of the Harley-Davidson, identified as David Edward Johnston of Montgomery, was taken to North Memorial Hospital after the crash. Officials said Johnston later died from his injuries. He was not wearing a helmet at the time. The driver of the Buick, 53-year-old Megan Cecilia Holicky of Le Center, was not hurt. Authorities stated alcohol was not suspected, and road conditions were dry at the time.
