Why Motorcycle Crashes Often Result in Serious Injuries
Motorcycles provide riders with less physical protection than passenger vehicles, increasing the likelihood of severe injuries in a roadway crash. Even when safety gear is used, riders may be exposed to significant forces during a collision.
After a motorcycle crash, investigators often review roadway conditions, vehicle movement, visibility, and other factors that may have contributed. Physical evidence from the roadway and the motorcycle can help establish what occurred before the crash.
High-speed roadways can present additional challenges because traffic moves quickly and reaction times are limited. Understanding these factors can help provide context when serious motorcycle collisions occur on major highways.
