Remsen, NY (August 22, 2026) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured on Thursday, August 20, after his motorcycle struck a pickup truck on State Route 12.
The collision happened around 4 p.m. at Steuben Street. Daniel Ricci, 61, of Frankfort, was riding a 2011 Yamaha northbound when a 2022 Ram 1500 entered Route 12 from Steuben Street while attempting to cross the northbound lanes and turn south.
Ricci was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse with serious injuries. The pickup driver, Jordan Mirabito, 27, of Norwich, was not hurt.
Several motorists stopped to help Ricci before emergency units arrived. The investigation remains active, with additional details expected as the review continues.
