What Factors Can Contribute to Motorcycle Crashes?
Motorcycle crashes can occur due to roadway conditions, traffic movements, driver awareness, and the actions of other vehicles nearby. Motorcycles have a smaller profile than passenger vehicles, which can make them harder to see in certain situations. Sudden lane changes, following too closely, and unexpected movements can increase the risk of a collision.
Investigators may review vehicle damage, roadway debris, witness information, and available footage to understand how the crash happened. The position of the motorcycle and other vehicles after impact may also provide details about the sequence of events. These factors can help explain the circumstances surrounding a motorcycle accident.
