What Details Are Reviewed After a Crash Involving Multiple Vehicles?
Multi-vehicle crashes can involve several contributing factors, so investigators may examine each vehicle’s position, damage, and movement before impact. Road conditions, traffic patterns, and debris left at the scene can help show how the collision developed. Vehicle inspections may also provide information about the force and direction of the impacts.
Other evidence, including witness accounts and available camera footage, may help clarify the sequence of events. Investigators may also review lane usage, visibility, and roadway conditions to better understand what happened before the vehicles came to a stop.
