New Orleans, LA (January 13, 2026) – A 55-year-old male pedestrian sustained serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle on January 12 near Canal St in New Orleans. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene after reports indicated the man was hit by a vehicle traveling at approximately 45 miles per hour.
Upon arrival, responders found the victim with an open fracture to his right lower leg and no palpable pulse in the affected limb. Medical teams administered ketamine for pain management before preparing him for transport. The man was alert but had a Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score of 14, responding to painful stimuli.
Vital signs at the time included a heart rate of 115 and a blood pressure of 169/96. He was transported to University Medical Center for further evaluation and emergency care.
The incident remains under investigation. No details about the vehicle involved or the circumstances leading to the collision have been released.
