Norfolk, VA (January 2, 2026) – A multi-vehicle collision early Thursday morning in Norfolk left one person injured and prompted a response from local emergency crews. The incident occurred just after 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of East Ocean View Ave and Sherwood Pl.
Responding units from Norfolk Fire-Rescue arrived on scene to find a gray Dodge Caravan with visible damage. The second vehicle involved—a white car—reportedly fled the scene before authorities arrived. First responders on site provided medical attention to a 76-year-old individual who reported chest pain and shortness of breath following the crash.
The victim’s condition was treated as urgent, and they were transported to a nearby medical facility for further evaluation. The exact nature of their injuries has not been disclosed at this time.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, classifying it as a hit-and-run due to the second driver leaving the scene. The area around East Ocean View Ave and Sherwood Pl was temporarily cleared to allow medics and officers to carry out their work without obstruction.
