Norfolk, VA (January 26, 2026) – A two-vehicle accident early Monday morning near the STEM Academy on Campostella Rd drew a multi-unit emergency response after one of the vehicles struck a tree, temporarily trapping an occupant.
The incident occurred shortly after 7:25 a.m., when several callers reported that a blue vehicle had collided either with another car or a tree in the area of Campostella Rd and Olivet Dr. Emergency crews from Battalion One, Engine Eight, Ladder Eight, and Rescue One responded promptly to the scene, along with Norfolk police.
Engine Eight assumed command upon arrival and confirmed that a person was stuck inside the vehicle, pinned not by the wreckage itself but by overhanging tree limbs. Rescue teams worked to safely remove the branches and assist the individual out of the car.
Despite the initial concern, the occupant informed responders that they were not injured. Medical personnel remained on site to complete an evaluation, and all units except Engine Eight and Medic were cleared from the scene shortly before 7:30 a.m.
Officials have not released further details about the second vehicle involved or the cause of the crash. No additional injuries were reported.
We are thankful that no one was seriously harmed in this accident and commend the quick action of Norfolk’s first responders in ensuring everyone’s safety.
