What Factors Can Lead to Severe Fires After Vehicle Collisions?
Roads like Simmons Street near Carey Avenue often see a mix of commercial and passenger traffic. When high-speed impacts occur, the force of the crash can damage fuel systems, increasing the chance of fire.
Collisions involving large trucks can raise the severity due to size and weight differences. When vehicles strike at certain angles, fuel leaks and heat from the impact may contribute to flames spreading quickly.
Intersection movements, such as left turns across traffic, can also increase risk. These situations require careful timing, and when combined with speed, they can lead to serious outcomes, including post-crash fires.
