How Multi-Vehicle Crashes at Busy Intersections Often Occur
Crashes involving several vehicles often take place at large intersections where traffic flows from many directions at once. Drivers may be turning, crossing through the intersection, or merging from nearby highways, which increases the chance of vehicles meeting at different angles.
Motorcycles are particularly vulnerable in these situations. Because they are smaller than passenger vehicles, they can be harder for drivers to see, especially during heavy traffic or when drivers are focused on signals and surrounding vehicles.
Intersections near highway connections or major roadways may also experience faster traffic movement. When vehicles approach at higher speeds, even a brief misjudgment of distance or timing can lead to a serious crash involving multiple vehicles.
