Kansas City, MO (June 24, 2026) – One person lost their life following a traffic accident with a parked school bus on Monday afternoon, June 22, in Kansas City.
The crash occurred at approximately 3:20 p.m. near 34th Street and The Paseo. According to police, a red Toyota SUV was traveling southbound on The Paseo from Linwood Boulevard at a high rate of speed when it struck a school bus that was parked in front of a school.
Early findings indicate the SUV driver may have experienced a medical emergency before the collision. The driver of the Toyota died at the scene.
The school bus driver sustained minor injuries and received treatment for soft-tissue damage. No additional information about the deceased has been released, but investigators are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the wreck.
