What Happens After a Motorcycle Crash?
Motorcycle crashes can result in serious injuries because riders have less physical protection than people inside passenger vehicles. Helmets, protective clothing, and other safety equipment can reduce the severity of some injuries, but riders remain exposed during a fall or roadway impact.
Road conditions can also affect motorcycle safety. Curves, intersections, pavement conditions, lighting, and changes in elevation may all influence how a motorcycle travels. Weather and visibility can create additional challenges, particularly after dark.
Medical treatment can vary depending on the injuries involved. Some people may require emergency care followed by additional treatment or rehabilitation. The severity of injuries may not always be immediately clear, making medical evaluation important after a serious motorcycle wreck.
