Van Zandt County, TX (July 15, 2026) – One person died after a plane crashed on Tuesday afternoon, July 14, near the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 3227 and Farm-to-Market Road 47 in Van Zandt County.
According to Van Zandt County Sheriff Kevin Bridger, the aircraft went down at approximately 1:50 p.m. The pilot, an adult man, was the only confirmed fatality. His identity has not yet been released.
The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the crash. Officials have not released additional information about the aircraft or what may have caused it to go down. The investigation into the fatal plane crash remains ongoing as detectives continue gathering evidence.
