How Rollover Crashes Are Commonly Reviewed
Rollover crashes can involve several factors, including vehicle movement, roadway design, driver actions, and conditions at the time of the crash. Investigators often examine physical evidence from the vehicle and roadway to understand how the rollover occurred.
Vehicle safety features, seat belt use, and the path a vehicle traveled before leaving the roadway can provide useful information during a review. In some cases, factors such as speed, distraction, or impairment may also be examined if evidence supports those possibilities.
Single-vehicle rollovers can occur on highways and rural roads, where changes in direction, loss of control, or leaving the travel lane can lead to serious consequences. A detailed review helps provide a clearer understanding of the circumstances involved.
