Hartford, CT (July 14, 2026) – A 53-year-old man lost his life after a scooter and a car collided on Sunday afternoon, July 12, at the intersection of New Britain Avenue and Stone Street in Hartford.
The collision was reported around 3 p.m. Emergency units arrived to find the scooter rider unconscious. Despite life-saving efforts, the man was pronounced dead. He was later identified as Luis Collazo, 53, of Hartford.
The police said everyone involved remained at the intersection and cooperated with the investigation. The roadway was temporarily closed while investigators documented the crash. Anyone who witnessed what happened or has relevant information is encouraged to contact the Hartford Police Department.
