Tooele County, UT (June 7, 2026) – A fatal rollover on SR-36 in Tooele County claimed one life and left another person hurt on Thursday evening.
According to reports, the wreck occurred at approximately 8:39 p.m. when a Ford Expedition traveling north on SR-36 left the roadway. Witnesses in an ambulance observed the SUV return to the highway, nearly striking the ambulance, then left the road again and overturned.

Investigators believe impairment may have been a factor in the rollover. Troopers continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the wreck.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Mr. Wolf’s family and friends during this difficult time.
What Factors Often Contribute to Rollover Crashes?
Rollover crashes can occur when a vehicle leaves the roadway, strikes an object, or makes a sudden maneuver that makes it unstable. Sport utility vehicles and other taller vehicles generally have a higher center of gravity, which can increase rollover risk under certain conditions.
Seatbelt use is one of the most effective ways to reduce severe injury in these types of crashes. Occupants who are ejected from a vehicle face a significantly greater risk of fatal or serious harm. Investigators often review roadway conditions, vehicle movement, driver behavior, and possible impairment when examining a rollover. Physical evidence, witness statements, and vehicle damage can help determine the sequence of events and provide a clearer picture of what occurred before the vehicle overturned.
