Phoenix, AZ (August 17, 2026) – One man died, and a woman was critically injured early on Saturday morning, August 15, in a two-vehicle collision near 51st Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road. The crash was reported at approximately 1:43 a.m.
The collision involved a motorcycle and a car. The motorcycle driver, 35-year-old Leon Jimenez, was found unresponsive and later died.
An adult female passenger on the motorcycle was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Another man was evaluated but declined hospital treatment.
Preliminary information indicates the motorcycle made a left turn and struck the side of the other vehicle. Authorities continue reviewing the circumstances leading up to the accident.
