Castle Hayne, NC (July 22, 2026) – One person died, and another was hospitalized following a four-vehicle accident on Wednesday, July 22, on U.S. 117 South near the Pender-New Hanover county line. The crash occurred around 1:56 p.m., when troopers were called to the area.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, an orange pickup truck traveling north crossed the center line and struck vehicles traveling in the opposite direction. Four vehicles were involved in the wreck.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while another was taken to Pender Memorial Hospital.
