Mount Sterling, OH (July 6, 2026) – One person died, and another was injured after a two-vehicle collision early on Sunday, July 5, on Interstate 71 Southbound near milepost 82 in Madison County. The accident was reported around 1:43 a.m.
A preliminary report said a silver 2020 Freightliner Cascadia was traveling south on Interstate 71 when it struck a gray 2025 Honda Accord. The Honda was driven by Tobias Forsythe, 21, of Gahanna.
Forsythe sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Freightliner driver was hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
