Mulberry, FL (July 6, 2026) – A pilot and passenger were hurt on Saturday afternoon after an ultralight plane collided with power lines and made a hard landing on State Road 60 near Coronet Road in Mulberry.
Officials said the pilot, a local man, struck power lines shortly after takeoff, causing the aircraft to land forcefully on the highway. The aircraft was identified as an Experimental Operating Light-Sport Aircraft.
The pilot, identified as 59-year-old Moises Serrano, and his passenger, 22-year-old Marcus Serrano, were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Both are expected to recover. Federal aviation agencies were notified as the investigation continues.
