Prairie Twp, OH (August 28, 2026) – One person was killed, and another was injured on Wednesday afternoon, August 26, in a head-on crash on Alton Darby Creek Road in Prairie Township. Deputies were called to the 1000 block shortly before 4:30 p.m.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling north while a Ford Escape was heading south. Investigators said the Ford appeared to cross into the northbound lane before the two vehicles collided head-on.
Both drivers were taken to OhioHealth Doctors Hospital. The 37-year-old Ford driver suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at 5:37 p.m. The Chevrolet driver was hospitalized in stable condition.
No passengers were in either vehicle. Alton Darby Creek Road was closed near the scene while deputies and medics responded. The crash remains under investigation.
