Mount Tabor, VT (August 11, 2026) – One teenager died and two others were injured Monday night, August 10, in a single-vehicle collision on National Forest Highway 10. The crash was reported at approximately 10:39 p.m.
A Subaru left the dirt roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle had extensive damage along the driver’s side when responders arrived.
A 17-year-old passenger seated behind the driver died from the injuries. The 17-year-old driver suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while a 16-year-old front-seat passenger received minor injuries.
The younger passenger left the scene before responders arrived in order to call 911.
Investigators continue reviewing the accident to determine the complete circumstances. We extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the teen who lost their life and hope the two injured teenagers recover steadily.
