Oklahoma City, OK (August 11, 2026) – A semi-truck veered across traffic and struck a home along NW 70th St near N Meridian Ave on Monday, August 10. Police believe the driver experienced a medical episode before the vehicle left the roadway.
The semi-truck was traveling westbound on the Northwest Expressway when it crossed into eastbound traffic. It then went through four backyards before hitting a spare bedroom of the house.
A gas line was damaged when the semi-truck hit the home, prompting nearby residents to evacuate. Two adults and one child were inside the house, but none were injured.
The semi-truck driver was taken to a hospital in stable condition. Four backyards were damaged, including a chicken coop where about eight to 10 chickens died.
The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under review. We hope the driver makes a full recovery.
