Anchorage, AK (August 3, 2026) – One person was injured after a crash involving a tractor-trailer and a sedan on Saturday, August 1, that sent both vehicles into the Mountain View Public Library building in Anchorage.
According to the Anchorage Police Department, the collision occurred at approximately 2:15 a.m. near 120 Bragaw Street. Investigators said the tractor-trailer and sedan collided before both vehicles crashed into the north side of the library, causing damage to the building. The driver of the sedan was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Library officials said no employees or visitors were inside the building when the collision occurred. The Mountain View Public Library remained closed on Monday morning and is expected to stay closed until at least next week while a safety inspection determines whether the structure is stable. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
