Why Highway Accidents With Vans and Box Trucks Can Cause Injuries
Highway accidents involving vans and box trucks can lead to injuries because the vehicles often differ in size, weight, and stopping distance. A box truck may need more room to slow down than a smaller vehicle, especially when traffic changes quickly near an exit.
When vehicles leave travel lanes, medical teams may check for head, neck, back, shoulder, and leg pain. People inside a van may be seated in different rows, which can affect how they move during contact. Investigators may review lane position, speed, road surface, visibility, and vehicle damage to understand how the vehicles separated onto the median and shoulder. Even when only one person is taken to a hospital, others involved may still be checked for delayed pain or hidden trauma.
