Council Bluffs, IA (July 1, 2026) – One person was hospitalized on Monday evening, June 29, after a two-vehicle crash in Council Bluffs.

The accident was reported in the 1300 block of Avenue B. Dispatch had received several calls about the crash before emergency units arrived.

Initial reports said two people were on the ground outside the vehicles. One patient later reported eye pain.

At least one person was brought to a local hospital. The report did not include the person’s name, age, or updated medical status. The accident remains under review as more information is confirmed.

We hope the injured person receives the care needed and recovers fully.

Two-Vehicle Crashes Can Leave People Hurt Outside Their Cars

Two-vehicle crashes can be dangerous when people end up outside their vehicles after the impact. Injured people may be exposed to traffic, broken glass, debris, or leaking fluids while help is on the way.

Eye pain after a crash can require medical attention because glass, dust, airbag residue, or blunt force may cause irritation or injury. Some problems may not be obvious right away, especially when the person is also dealing with shock or other pain.

Neighborhood streets can also become risky after a collision. Drivers approaching the block may slow suddenly or need to steer around stopped vehicles. After an injury accident, reviews frequently focus on vehicle direction, speed, roadway layout, and where each vehicle came to rest.

1Seek treatment promptly after being injured in an accident. Your first priority should always be your health. Many providers offer treatment on a lien basis, meaning you can get the care you need now and pay later when your claim is resolved.
