Rollover Crashes Can Create Serious Injury Concerns
Rollover crashes can be dangerous because people inside a vehicle may be thrown against the roof, doors, windows, or seats. Even when only one vehicle overturns, the force can cause head, neck, back, and internal injuries.
When a vehicle lands on its roof, the response can also become more complicated. Damaged doors, broken glass, and shifted vehicle parts may make it harder for occupants to get out safely. Crews may need to check the vehicle’s position before helping anyone inside.
Two-vehicle crashes can also make the early review more complex. Investigators usually look at travel direction, speed, lane position, road surface, and vehicle damage to understand how the rollover happened.
