Atlanta, GA (July 15, 2026) – One man was injured in a house fire on Monday evening, July 14, on Liverpool Way SW in southwest Atlanta.
Emergency units arrived to find the garage of a two-story home on fire. Crews quickly extinguished the flames, preventing significant damage to the remainder of the residence. According to fire officials, the man sustained second-degree burns before emergency personnel arrived and was evaluated at the property. Both people and pets safely escaped the home.
Neighbors reported hearing an explosion followed by calls for help before seeing heavy smoke coming from the house. Fire officials said the fire most likely began in the garage before spreading rapidly into the attic. The exact cause has not yet been determined.
