Roslyn Heights, NY (June 23, 2026) – A woman in her 60s was critically hurt after being trapped inside a burning home on Schoolhouse Lane in Roslyn Heights on Sunday night.
The woman was found in the basement after emergency units arrived at the two-story residence around 11 p.m. She was rescued from heavy fire conditions and taken to Nassau University Medical Center for evaluation of critical injuries.
The home was declared uninhabitable after the fire was brought under control in about 60 minutes. No other people were reported hurt, and the woman’s identity was not released. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, though it was not considered suspicious based on initial findings.
