Charlotte, NC (July 27, 2026) — One person was seriously injured on Saturday night, July 25, in a collision at the intersection of Interstate 85 South and Sugar Creek Road in Charlotte, according to emergency officials. All southbound lanes were shut down as a result, backing up traffic in the area.
A car overturned and came to rest on top of another vehicle at the scene, according to a reporter on site. No additional details, including how many vehicles were involved beyond the two seen, have been released. The cause of the wreck remained unclear as this report was filed.
