What Typically Happens After a Bus Is Involved in a Rear-End Collision in Houston?
When a public transit bus is hit from behind, the review process that follows usually involves both the transit agency and outside investigators. Each party examines the vehicles, the road, and any available footage to piece together what happened. Bus stops can be particularly vulnerable points along a route, since the bus is stationary and other drivers may not always anticipate the stop.
Injuries in these collisions can vary widely depending on speed and the size difference between the vehicles. The driver of a smaller vehicle tends to bear more of the force in a rear-end collision with a large bus. Medical evaluation after this type of collision is common even when injuries appear minor at first.
