Why Left-Turn Crashes Are Likely to End in Serious Injuries?
Collisions involving left-turning vehicles are among the more common types of intersection and roadway crashes. These accidents frequently occur when a driver attempts to cross oncoming traffic and misjudges the speed or distance of approaching vehicles.
Investigators reviewing left-turn collisions typically examine traffic patterns, vehicle positions, visibility conditions, and witness statements. Physical evidence from the roadway and vehicle damage can help establish the sequence of events leading up to the impact.
When vehicles collide at roadway speeds, occupants may sustain significant injuries, even if only one person is hospitalized. Reviews of these incidents focus on right-of-way issues, driver actions, and environmental factors to determine how the crash occurred and whether any violations contributed to the collision.
